CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing 16-year-old girl who disappeared Thursday evening in uptown Charlotte.
Kaniyha Lane was last seen around 7 p.m. on May 1, near the magistrate’s office, walking toward East Third Street and McDowell Street, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Kaniyha is described as 5’1” tall, weighing about 104 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. At the time she went missing, she was wearing blue sweatpants, a black short-sleeve shirt, and black Crocs with no socks.
CMPD said she had two ponytails on top of her head and was wrapped in a blue and green blanket. The Missing Persons Unit is investigating the case and urges anyone who sees Kaniyha or has information about her whereabouts to call 911 immediately…
