Around 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, a 23-year-old man was approached by three men in the city’s Mission District. What started as a strange request to buy drugs quickly escalated into a violent robbery attempt. When the victim refused and tried to protect himself, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot him.
He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. The suspects ran off and haven’t been identified yet.
