Some Tacoma teachers face uncertainty amid $30M budget shortfall

TACOMA, Wash. — Dozens of teachers in Tacoma Public Schools could lose their jobs because of the district facing a $30 million budget shortfall for the upcoming school year.

Multiple educators told KING 5 about 100 teachers received the notices when they first went out in April that their contracts for the next school year had been put on pause and might not be renewed.
