135 displaced after fire erupts on roof of Bethlehem apartment complex

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — More than 100 residents of a luxury apartment complex in downtown Bethlehem are displaced after a massive four-alarm fire Friday afternoon.

Police say the fire broke out on the roof of 510 Flats on Third Avenue around 1:20 p.m. Strong winds quickly fanned the flames across the rooftop. All of the city’s available fire units, along with some from Allentown, were on hand to assist in putting it out and evacuating residents.

Thick smoke poured into the street below the complex. The fire wasn’t contained until almost 7 p.m…
