COLUMBUS, Ind. – Dispatch at the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received a call about a possible drunk driver on southbound I-65, near the 76-mile marker, at around 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
A deputy located the red SUV and followed it, observing driving behavior indicative of intoxication. A traffic stop was attempted, but the vehicle failed to pull over, and the driver continued to drive erratically.
A brief pursuit began but came to an end near mile marker 65 when the suspect’s SUV came to a stop. Jeffery Lewis II, 37, of Indianapolis, was taken into custody without incident. BCSO deputies said alcohol containers were allegedly found inside his vehicle…
