FIRST ALERT: Stalled front brings weekend rain chances

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) -Increasing chances of showers and storms will arrive this weekend with some areas picking up on beneficial rainfall.

TODAY

A mild start to the weekend with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s with mostly clear skies. Southerly winds will help our temperatures reach in the low 80s for the Grand Strand and upper 80s inland.

It’ll be a nice day to be outside, but you’ll want to keep an eye on the radar on our WMBF First Alert Weather App. This is all thanks to a slow moving cold front that will meander into the Carolinas this weekend, bringing a gradual increase in shower and thunderstorm chances.

Most of Saturday will be dry, but the afternoon and evening will bring in the risk of isolated showers and storms. Near the beaches, rain chances will increase to only 20% by the late afternoon and evening. Inland areas will see the rain chance increasing to 30% while areas west of I-95 will see the risk increasing to 40%…
