‘It was an incredible boom’: Bellshire home catches fire after potential lightning strike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Bellshire home caught fire Friday afternoon after neighbors say they saw and heard lightning strike.

“There was an incredible boom, thunder, and lightning at the same time,” neighbor Carole Hickey told WSMV. “It was a terrible storm.”

Two people, an elderly woman and her 13-year-old grandson, made it out safely as the home on Oak Point Drive filled with smoke. Neighbor Don Barrett was in his office in the home behind theirs when he saw the smoke start to pour out of the roof…
