The Florida Department of Transportation has installed a new traffic signal at Conway Road (State Road 15) & Simmons Road in Orlando.
The signal is currently operating in yellow flash mode and is expected to become fully operational on or around May 6th. The yellow flash mode is a temporary alert to help drivers notice and adjust to the new signal before it is fully activated with red, yellow, and green lights.
Once activated, the traffic signal is intended to enhance safety by managing turn movements at the intersection and reducing the likelihood of left-turn and angle crashes, according to FDOT.
It also provides a location for pedestrians and bicyclists to safely cross Conway Road and may help ease congestion at the nearby Lake Conway Woods and Kroger Street intersection by creating additional gaps in northbound traffic…
