The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has stamped its mark on the future of Tucson’s traffic flow, with a massive $600 million project aimed to reconstruct and widen a crucial section of Interstate 10. As per their announcement, ADOT is serving up details through two open houses, sparking a platform for public engagement and discourse on the imminent changes to one of Tucson’s transportation lifelines.
Plans are being laid out to throw open the freeway from a claustrophobic two-lane pinch to a more breathable three lanes between Park Avenue and Alvernon Way, and even further to four lanes west of Kino Parkway, transforming the current tangle of cars into a smoother stream of metal and rubber.
