Partly cloudy, then chance for showers and storms

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW)– Happy Saturday! This morning and afternoon will be partly cloudy and warm. There is no need to cancel any outdoor plans that you may have before noon today. A chance for some spotty showers and isolated storms arrives late this afternoon into the evening.

There is a Marginal Risk level 1/5 for severe weather for much of the Pee Dee and Grand Strand. At this time there is a 5% risk for both damaging winds and hail for tonight’s storm chances. Just west of our viewing area, parts of Camden and Columbia are in a Slight Risk where they can expect stronger and more lingering activity. The showers will once again be very spotty, a better chance for widespread rainfall arrives overnight into the first half of Sunday. Highs will stay above average in the upper-80s across the Pee Dee and lower-80s along the Grand Strand.

Early Sunday the lingering showers and storms will last into the early morning. Another round of spotty showers and possible storms arrives off-and-on throughout the day. Following a cold front, temperatures will be a little cooler than what we have been seeing, staying in the mid and upper-70s. We quickly warm starting your new work week. If you miss the rain this weekend, another couple of chances are in the forecast for your next work week…
