KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On Saturday, dozens of inspiring athletes competed in the third annual Special Olympics Missouri vs. Kansas Powerlifting competition at The Strong Barbell Club in Overland Park.
“We were told that he would be in a wheelchair. And to see him do these things and the numbers that he pulls. Just every moment is a miracle,” mom of Special Olympics athlete, Tina Schoonmaker said.
