GREENSBORO, N.C.— Montreat’s women’s track & field team split up and traveled to two meets this weekend. One group of athletes went to the Aggie Classic, hosted by North Carolina A&T State University, in Greensboro, N.C. The other group competed at the Hill City Twilight in Lynchburg, Va.
Altogether, eight Cavaliers competed across the weekend. The Cavs came away with three new school records, a trio of national standards and two event wins across the two days.
At the Hill City Twilight, Montreat only ran in two events during the Friday competition. The events were the 4x800m relay and the 5000m. The Cavaliers showed well, though, winning both events and setting two new school records in the process. The winning relay team consisted of Dylan Garcia, Macy Parks, Emily Standifer and Yessenia Castellanos. The group ran a time of 9:16.11, surpassing the school record and earning an NAIA ‘A’ standard…
