Charlotte Police Investigate Deadly Shooting on Frew Road, Public Asked for Assistance

A fatal shooting in Charlotte has prompted an investigation by local homicide detectives. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) news release, the incident occurred on the 3600 block of Frew Road in the North Tryon Division. Police responded to an emergency call about an accident with injury yesterday at approximately 11:00 a.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a victim suffering from the gunshot wound. The victim was quickly transported by MEDIC to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, where they were pronounced deceased. The CMPD Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Search were dispatched to undertake an exhaustive investigation and gather physical evidence. Assistance was also provided by CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD, and MEDIC.

The CMPD’s Public Affairs Division has stated that the investigation into this homicide is currently active and ongoing. Further details are expected to be made public as they emerge.
