An Irvine man has been arrested following a fatal collision in Stanton that claimed the life of one man and injured another on Friday night, CBS Los Angeles reported. The incident, which occurred near Magnolia Avenue and Pacific Avenue, involved a drunken driver who tried to flee the scene. The crash happened at 11:00 p.m., when a Dodge sedan, driven by James Anthony Deleon, collided with a Toyota van and struck another unoccupied parked vehicle. Hoanh Thanh Ngo, the 55-year-old van driver from Stanton, died at the scene, while Deleon, the 30-year-old sedan driver, failed in his attempt to escape on foot. He was later caught and arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence with a prior conviction, and he is also facing charges of murder. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department stated that Ngo succumbed to his injuries, while the second injured person’s status was not immediately known.
