FSU gets commitment from Oklahoma transfer RB

Florida State was predicted to land Oklahoma transfer running back Gavin Sawchuk earlier this week. As of Sunday, it’s official as the Sawchuk has committed to the Seminoles. He makes the fourth transfer portal addition of the week for FSU, and he has two years of eligibility left.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder joins USC Jarvis Boatwright Jr., Rutgers offensive lineman Ja’Elyne Matthews, and Vanderbilt offensive lineman Josh Raymond. Sawchuk was the No. 479 overall recruit and the No. 30 running back per 247Sports transfer rankings. As a recruit coming out of high school, Sawchuk was a four-star prospect who was the No. 7 running back and the No. 1 player out of Colorado.

Sawchuk dealt with a hamstring issue in 2024, which limited him to just 39 carries for 128 yards. In 2023, Sawchuk amassed 744 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 6.2 yards per carry. Although he redshirted as a freshman with the Sooners , he was forced into the Cheez-It Bowl that year against Florida State and ran for 100 yards with a touchdown on 15 carries…
