After 40 years of providing reproductive care to Ozarks residents in poverty, the Family Planning Clinic at the Ozarks Area Community Action Coalition , 215 S. Barnes Ave., may have to close its doors come July.
The vital but often overlooked clinic is “literally in a position where we have no idea” what’s going to happen, said clinic director Jamie Raab, after the majority of its Title X funding failed to materialize in April.
In a worst-case scenario, said Executive Director Jennifer Olson, if OACAC has not heard anything from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) about funding in the next few months, “I don’t know that we’ll have a clinic.”…
