Philadelphia Braces for Rain-Soaked Week with Showers and Thunderstorms Forecasted

Philadelphia residents can expect a wet start to the week according to the latest forecast issued by the National Weather Service. Today’s weather is dominated by showers and thunderstorms, with a predicted high of 69 degrees and an unyielding certainty of precipitation at 100%. As the National Weather Service detailed forecast reports, “Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3am.” Accumulated rainfall of up to half an inch is possible throughout the day.

The unsettled pattern continues into tonight with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9 pm. Conditions are set to stay cloudy with a low around 62 degrees. According to the National Weather Service Philadelphia, new rainfall amounts will be less than one-tenth of an inch, except higher amounts could occur within thunderstorms. Monday’s outlook holds a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms, accompanied by a high near 71, while gusts could reach up to 20 mph.

The soggy scenario extends into Tuesday, with a high near 76 degrees and an 80% probability of more showers and thunderstorms. Tuesday night might provide a slight respite, as the chances of precipitation decrease before another round possibly begins around 11 pm. The National Weather Service Philadelphia elaborates, “Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 11pm and 2am.”…
