APALD holds rally as they continue to spread awareness of fentanyl in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. — Friends and family of loved ones who were killed by the deadly opioid fentanyl were protested outside of the Eugene Federal Building on May 3. They were part of a nationwide demonstration for The Association of People Against Lethal Drugs.

May 3 is fifth annual APALD Awareness Day, and many of the family members present have been part of the demonstration each and every year.

KEZI 9 News spoke with Sarah Vail at the demonstration two years prior. She was there honoring the life of her daughter, who was killed by the opioid. Vail said, over the past two years, awareness of fentanyl has been at an all-time high…
