Newhall, CA (May 4, 2025) – A collision between two semi-trucks occurred on the northbound lanes of I-5 near the Vista Del Lago Road off-ramp on May 3rd, resulting in reported injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved a red Knight Transportation semi-truck and another big rig pulling a baby blue Amazon trailer with markings from Pannu Trans Logistics Inc. The second driver, described as a 35-year-old male with an amputated left hand, was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and shorts and was reportedly trailing the reporting party’s vehicle erratically. Witnesses told officers the suspect may have been drinking before the crash. Officers from the CHP Bakersfield Division are actively investigating the incident.
