FDA recalls tomatoes sold in Ohio

OHIO — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said an Indiana-based company is recalling four-count packs of tomatoes over the possibility of salmonella contamination.

Ray & Mascari Inc. said it’s recalling “4 Count Vine Ripe Tomatoes” packaged in clam shell containers with the following information:

  • UPC# 7 96553 20062 1
  • Lot# EM250424 15250B or Lot# RM250427 152250B

The recalled tomatoes were sold by Gordon Food Service stores in Ohio, as well as Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

No illnesses have been reported so far, according to the FDA…
