Man facing charges after headbutting officer on Broadway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – An officer was hospitalized following an altercation with a man late Sunday night on Broadway in downtown Nashville.

According to the arrest affidavit, officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department noticed a man standing next to a red Corvette parked in a loading zone in front of Garth Brooks’ bar, Friends in Low Places. They approached 38-year-old David Sommers, who was on the phone, and told him he was not allowed to park there, causing Sommers to immediately become “confrontational,” the affidavit states.
