‘Unsettling’ social media post about North Texas school leads to arrest, officials say

HURST, Texas — The Hurst Police Department made an arrest in connection with a threatening social media post targeting an Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District elementary school, officials said.

In a letter to parents, HEB ISD said over the weekend the district received a report about an “unsettling” social media post mentioning Hurst Hills Elementary. Hurst police opened an investigation and later made an arrest in connection with the post, the district said.

The HEB ISD safety and security team will place an elementary School Resource Officer at the school Monday, the letter states. The Hurst police department also plans to have an increased presence in the area, the district said…
