Man’s Old Record Could Be Worth Thousands

Additional Coverage:

A lucky “Antiques Roadshow” guest was stunned to discover the potential value of a signed album by iconic rock band The Who. The guest, who had worked in a used record store as a young teen, purchased the “My Generation” album signed by all four original members – Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon – for a mere $75 back in 1983.

Appraiser Giles Moon pointed out the rarity of the item, particularly due to the inclusion of drummer Keith Moon’s signature. Moon’s early passing at age 32 makes any item bearing his autograph highly sought-after by collectors. Combined with the fact that the signed album is “My Generation,” one of The Who’s most acclaimed albums, the record’s value skyrocketed.

Moon estimated the album could fetch between $2,000 and $4,000 at auction, leaving the guest in disbelief. A significant return on a $75 investment from decades prior!
