Kristy Rowe, an inspiring child life specialist with Dayton Children’s Hospital, has been named 7 Brew’s April Hero for her unwavering dedication and impact on the hospital and the families she serves.
For 23 years, Rowe has transformed pediatric care by pioneering sensory-friendly initiatives and enhancing child life services. She developed sensory rooms and adaptable patient spaces, ensuring neurodiverse patients receive personalized care. Rowe alsolaunched the STAR programat Dayton Children’s Hospital, enabling 85percentof participants to complete MRIs without sedation—saving families several thousands of dollars and increasing MRI availability by 10.5 hours.
