Final Defendant in East Alabama Drug Trafficking Conspiracy Sentenced to 10 Years in Federal Prison

Anniston, AL – The final defendant involved in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation in East Alabama has been sentenced, marking the conclusion of a multi-agency investigation that spanned nearly a year.

Demarcus Sharon Brown, 39, of Anniston, received a 10-year federal prison sentence from a district court judge after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine. Brown’s sentencing brings to a close a case that involved six defendants operating across the region from fall 2022 through summer 2023.

According to court documents, Brown and five other individuals conspired to distribute more than 1,000 grams of methamphetamine throughout East Alabama.
