The City of Shreveport is offering free sandbags to residents throughout the week to help prepare for potential flooding and severe weather.
The National Weather Service in Shreveport announced that a Flood Watch is in effect for the area from 7 a.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday because of the threat of excessive heavy rainfall on top of already saturated soil.
Rainfall amounts during this time frame will likely average between 2 inches and 4 inches, with isolated higher totals of greater than 5 inches possible in some areas…
