Upstate faces possibility of flooding, severe thunderstorms

ALBANY — Days of torrential rains sent water pouring into upstate rivers, streams and creeks. Now, meteorologists say approaching thunderstorms could add more to already swollen waterways.

After days of soaking rain, parts of eastern upstate face the potential for flooding. The National Weather Service says there is a marginal risk that severe thunderstorms could hit the Capital Region and Hudson Valley by afternoon.
