CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has announced that four new deputies have been removed from their positions as a result of an internal investigation indicating that the execution of an active warrant was incorrectly reported.
This was after an internal affairs investigation that revealed the deputies misrepresented their body cameras and did not classify the incident as a use-of-force, even though force was deployed.
A bondsman called deputies in search of a suspect who was in the Englewood area of Charlotte County and developed information of her possibly being at the homeless camps within the jurisdiction of Sarasota County near Englewood Hospital.
