In a recent clampdown on human trafficking, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a man accused of operating a human trafficking ring. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Deune Dukes was arrested on last Thursday during an undercover operation.
Investigators indicated they were able to rescue at least two female victims, whom Dukes had allegedly forced to perform sexual acts in exchange for drugs. These women also exhibited visible bruising believed to be inflicted by Dukes. Furthermore, detectives are investigating the involvement of a possible third victim and a fourth female who Dukes was purportedly grooming, though she had yet to be compelled to perform sexual acts at the time of his arrest.
Upon executing a search warrant at Duke’s residence, detectives discovered an assortment of illegal drugs including Methamphetamine, Powder and Crack Cocaine, MDMA, and Suboxone Patches.
