Strong to severe thunderstorms likely today in CNY

The slow-moving system that brought central New York rain showers yesterday continues to swing moisture into Syracuse again today.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for most of CNY from 2 PM Tuesday until 2 PM Wednesday. Rainfall has soaked parts of the area with over 0.50″ of rain as of Noon, with another quickly falling 1-2″ possible in spots. This could cause low-lying areas to flood, ponding of water on roadways, and small streams and creeks to overflow their banks.
