Bunnak “Hannah” Landon, the Harahan woman convicted of killing her boyfriend’s daughter, 6-year-old Bella Fontenelle, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison plus 80 years, according to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office.
A Jefferson Parish jury found Landon, 45, guilty of first-degree murder and two counts of obstruction of justice in Bella’s death Thursday, after deliberating for just under an hour following a four-day trial.
“I’d love to say we’re happy, but there’s no happy moments in this entire case,” Bella’s aunt, Bianca Cano, 37, said outside the Jefferson Parish courthouse Tuesday morning following Landon’s sentencing. “We are able to sleep a little bit better at night knowing that she will not see any other day free.”…
