Lines out the door of DMV with New Yorkers trying to get REAL ID by deadline

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Bring paperwork and patience to the Department of Motor Vehicles as New Yorkers head to the offices to meet a new federal requirement.

Ahead of Wednesday’s REAL ID compliance deadline, lines spilled outside the doors of the DMV in Coney Island, of New Yorkers trying to get the paperwork in.

Starting Wednesday, airline travelers and visitors to federal buildings will need a REAL ID or Enhanced ID. Passports are also accepted.
