COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – You can expect wet weather off and on this week and even into early next week as our weather pattern will remain a bit unsettled.
First Alert Headlines:
- Off and on rain chances continue next several days.
- Rain chances continue along with cooler temperatures for Mother’s Day weekend.
- Staying wet at the start of next week.
First Alert Summary:
A period of unsettled weather in the Midlands begins today. An area of low pressure will develop along a stalled boundary to our south. This will lift towards our region, maintaining passing showers in today’s forecast. While it will not be an all-day rain event today or the next few days, keep the rain gear ready to go this week. Otherwise, if you miss out on the rain, we’ll have mostly cloudy to cloudy skies, which will help keep us cooler during the afternoon.
The low and the frontal boundary will linger offshore today and tomorrow. By Friday, a cold front drops in, which will supply moisture and forcing to continue the support of rain and better chances for thunder.
As we head into Mother’s Day weekend, an area of low pressure will develop across the Southeast and slowly move up the Eastern Seaboard. As it does, this will continue our daily rain chances, even through the holiday weekend.
First Alert Forecast:
Today: Cloudy skies with a few showers throughout the day. Chance of rain 40%. Highs in the mid and upper-70s…
