Mayor wins seat after challenger questioned leadership in small Michigan city

BANGOR, MI — The current mayor of a small town in Southwest Michigan will keep her position, defeating a challenger who questioned her leadership.

Lynne Farmer received 63% of the vote, or 179 votes, defeating challenger Steve Honeycutt in the city of Bangor’s mayor’s race, according to unofficial results posted by Van Buren County.

The election was held Tuesday, May 6.
