The annual Rayne Frog Festival canceled Thursday’s kickoff parade in light of the local police officer who was killed by friendly fire Monday.
Organizers announced the cancellation Tuesday night after the Rayne Police Department confirmed earlier that day that Lt. Allen “Noochie” Credeur, 47, was shot and killed by a fellow police officer while executing a search warrant Monday afternoon.
“Out of respect for our fallen officer and to allow our law enforcement families time to grieve and be with loved ones, Thursday night’s Kickoff Parade has been canceled.”…
