SkyWest Airlines, the largest regional carrier in the country, is bound for Shreveport.
The company, based in St. George, Utah, will be hiring 150 employees to staff its new maintenance facility at the Shreveport Regional Airport. Louisiana Economic Development anticipates roughly 375 indirect jobs will also be created.
SkyWest has leased a 152,000-square-foot hangar previously used by Rockwell, Boeing, Continental Express and Global Western Airlines. The facility will be used for maintenance of SkyWest’s Embraer and Bombardier regional jets.
