Vehicle Blaze Extinguished in Mapunapuna, Honolulu, No Injuries Reported as Fire Department Investigates Cause

Smoke and sirens filled the streets of Mapunapuna yesterday as the Honolulu Fire Department tackled a vehicle blaze that broke out at 664 Kakoi Street. The call, which came in at 10:20 a.m. on May 6th, was initially for a building fire, only to be updated to a vehicle fire upon the arrival of the first responders. Within four minutes of the 911 call, firefighters were on the scene, according to a report from the Honolulu Fire Department.

The team of 24 personnel comprising 6 units engaged in an aggressive attack on the fire and swiftly established that there were no occupants inside the burning vehicle.
