Driver facing more charges after man dies from injuries sustained in crash on West Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The driver who police say caused a crash on West Gate City Boulevard last week that sent five people to the hospital is facing additional charges after one of the people died from their injuries.

Police said Michael Farrow died May 3 from injuries sustained in the collision. Betsabe Cano-Sartillo, 45, now faces manslaughter and misdemeanor death by vehicle charges on top of charges for not having a license, reckless driving to endanger, failure to stop at a red light, going the wrong way on a dual lane highway and failure to reduce speed.

According to Greensboro police, Cano-Santillo was driving north on Groometown Road when she veered left, ran a red light at the West Gate City Boulevard intersection, and crashed into a car traveling east on West Gate City Boulevard, driven by Lorenza Karaman…
