Palo Duro High School celebrates college signings for standout athletes

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Several student-athletes from Palo Duro High School officially committed to continuing their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level during a signing ceremony held Tuesday afternoon at the Palo Duro Activity Center.

Seven athletes signed letters of intent to compete in track and field, cross country, and football across multiple community colleges.

Aushuan Wilson will compete in both football and track at Highland Park Community College. Mekhi Gotita and Maslah Abdi signed with Garden City Community College for track, while J’Daryion Dickson and Mel Mou signed to Dodge City Community College for the same sport.

Eliza Miles will join the track program at Cloud Community College, Aniyah Burley will join the South Plains Community College track team, and Abdirisak Saidgurhan will run cross country and track for South Plains.

School officials celebrated the athletes’ dedication and achievements, marking the event as a proud moment for the Palo Duro community.
