JOHNSTON, Iowa — Last week, the city of Granger fired the chief of its emergency medical services (EMS) department after deciding to combine its EMS and fire services. In response, 17 EMS employees resigned.
Now, residents want to know if they’ll still receive the care they need when they call 911. Surrounding fire and EMS departments are working to provide extra ambulances and EMTs as needed to the city.
