Rising cost of groceries leads Rockford residents to farmers markets

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The rising cost of groceries has local farmers hoping community members rethink shopping in stores and opt to buy food at local markets.

According to a WalletHub report, Illinois ranks 36 out of 50 for spending the most money on groceries with nearly 2% of many households’ median monthly income being used to buy groceries.
