TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department hosted the 18th Oklahoma SWAT Competition on Wednesday.
“We have 10 teams from across the state that are here competing, more for bragging rights and a few prizes,” said Captain Mike Eckert, the Commander of TPD’s Special Operations Team. “The teams are from as far away as Lawton. Some in the Oklahoma City area, several from northeast Oklahoma, all representing their department and their team in five events that are here on site as well as a sniper competition that is being held at another location. In those six events, teams are competing against the clock in a variety of weapons courses, a variety of physical demanding events that they have to complete in while or as or before they shoot.”
