Warrant details $1 million ransom kidnapping of mother, child in North Carolina

GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Just as a Garner kidnapping trial was moved to federal court Tuesday evening, the Wake County Courthouse released the warrant detailing the findings of a search conducted by the Garner Police Department.

Late on the night of April 28, a mother and child were taken from a man’s home on Buck Branch Road in Garner. According to the warrant, the armed kidnapping also involved a ransom, demanding that the victims pay $1 million.

The search warrant also revealed just how officers were able to locate the three suspects, now being charged federally, by using what the victims recounted, as well as the use of social media.

The man who said he was duct taped in his Garner home reported to police that he noticed a black Nissan Altima drive by multiple times on Buck Branch Drive. The warrant said it was five to ten minutes after the man went inside that he saw a woman at the door asking for “Maria.”…
