Developer pursues its first housing project under expanded state incentives program

Grand Rapids-based Wheeler Development Group is pursuing its first workforce housing community under a recently expanded state program that allows brownfield tax captures for housing projects.

Wheeler Development Group in April presented early concept plans to the Lowell Planning Commission for its 72-unit project called Lowell Flats. It is planned for the southern half of an approximately 4-acre parcel at 1160 W. Main St. in Lowell.
