After a two-year investigation, a suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run that occurred on Dickerson Pike in February 2023. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department announced the arrest of Torion Bean Jr., 25, who is facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide and vehicle theft, in the death of 26-year-old Kimberly Benezue.
Benezue was driving a Mazda 3 on the night of February 4, 2023, when she was struck by a stolen Dodge Charger allegedly driven by Bean. The vehicle had been reported stolen less than three hours before the collision and was reportedly involved in drag racing. It had also evaded a traffic stop before the crash. The Charger was traveling at nearly double the speed limit when it struck Benezue’s vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
DNA evidence recovered from items found inside the stolen Charger helped identify Bean as a suspect. Additional DNA testing is ongoing. Forensic analysis by the MNPD Crime Lab was instrumental in the investigation, leading to Bean’s arrest in Marshall County this week…
