Kidnapping in Providence ends at rest stop in Madison

MADISON, Conn. (WTNH) — A man is in custody following an alleged kidnapping at gunpoint that began in Providence, Rhode Island, and ended at a Madison rest stop early Thursday morning, state police said.

According to state police, Troop F personnel responded to the Madison rest area on Interstate 95 following a “be on the lookout” from Providence police regarding a reported kidnapping at gunpoint.

State police said a trooper located the vehicle at the Madison rest area just before 2 a.m., occupied by a man and a woman.
