‘Significant explosion.’ Hopedale man charged after police found this at his home

Police in Hopedale say a local man faces several charges after his homemade fireworks led to a state bomb squad being called to his home.

James Dec, 32, of 59 Mill St., is charged with two counts each of assault and battery on a police officer and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; possession of an explosive device; resisting arrest; and possession of cocaine, according to a Hopedale Police Department press release.
