Sturbridge Man Charged in Unarmed Auburn Bank Robbery, Arrest Aided by Worcester-Auburn Police Collaboration

John Wozniak, 49, of Sturbridge, was arrested after allegedly robbing a bank in Auburn without using a weapon. According to the Auburn Police Department’s Facebook post, Wozniak passed a threatening note to a teller at Savers Bank on Wednesday last week and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

A tip about a suspicious vehicle in Worcester helped police locate Wozniak. During a separate vehicle pursuit, Worcester Police began a foot chase with Wozniak, who was seen dropping cash as he ran.
