Shreveport’s Give for Good Day Raises $2.5 Million Despite Tornadoes

SHREVEPORT, LA

Shreveport’s annual Give for Good Day raised $2.5 million for local nonprofits, despite tornado warnings and power outages impacting the event. The Community Foundation of North Louisiana , which organizes the event, saw over 4,000 donors contribute more than 8,700 donations to 222 organizations, which is still phenomenal, although slightly below last year’s totals.

Economic Challenges Impact Donations

Kristi Gustavson, from the Community Foundation, told KEEL News that while the number of donations was slightly lower, the average donation remained strong at approximately $230. Economic concerns and inflation may have limited the participation of smaller donors, a trend the foundation anticipated.
