LOVELAND – There weren’t any chimneys installed above the meeting room to send out messages in different colors of smoke like the cardinals at the Vatican selecting the next pope will do, Board of Education member Stu Boyd said.
But he and his fellow school board members announced their choice May 7 to become the Thompson School District’s next superintendent, passing a resolution to name Bret Heller the sole finalist.
Heller is currently superintendent of the School Town of Munster, Indiana, district, a position he will have held for three years when he steps down at the end of June to begin his new job July 1 with Thompson School District, pending successful contract negotiations. A formal appointment is expected following a 14-day waiting period required by Colorado law to provide an opportunity for community feedback…
